Screengrab of Safari browser's rendering of Fuddland's front page

Looks like Safari doesn’t like the character set I’m using to specify the special characters after things like the text in the drop-down menus at the top of the page. It also doesn’t seem to support font-variant: small-caps.

Ah-ha. The small-caps issue is a known bug with Safari, so there’s nothing I can do about that.

After an exchange with bsag, it’s emerged that the problem is only with the character in the top-level menus — the other CSS-generated content displays correctly. Is it a bug with that Unicode character, \21D3?

bsag and have I decided it must be a bug, and she has very kindly submitted it to Apple via Safari’s Help menu. Obviously they’ll give it top priority. ;)

The font-variant: small-caps support has been added as of Safari 1.2, amongst other bug fixes.
