i’ve entered the realm of movable type tonight. a few initial teething problems were sorted out by the self-titled mt-meister, and now i just have to sort out templates et al. i think i’ll be on blogger for a while yet!

found this when i was at my mum’s. it’s a self-portrait i did when i was about 17, as part of my a-level art course, for which i ended up with a grade d. i kinda like this pic though — quite proud of the hand holding the bowl. the mouth’s a little askew, but then so is my real mouth.

…and it’s freezing in my flat. i’ve got storage heaters, which build up a reserve of heat overnight and release it during the day, so they won’t start radiating until tomorrow morning. in the meantime i’ve got my little fan heater working up a sweat [though sadly it doesn’t seem to have the same effect on me].

nice load of cards were awaiting my return, containing a grand total of 45 quid — result! [silly people sending real cash in the post though — my granddad in particular cannot seem to accept that i am 26 and have had a bank account for many years. he’s never sent me a cheque, always cash.]

just watched the entire second series of the office*, and have to say it was better than i previously thought. the eps i missed first time round were, ironically**, the funniest imo — the whole motivational seminar build-up and execution was genius.

*courtesy of mrtn and his video recorder. cheers dude!

**and finally, i will be able to read exactly what the dave eggers sense of this is, now i have the page numbers in this, again courtesy of mrtn. hey, he’s doing me a lot of favours lately…what’s he after? ;)

mind you, i don’t think i like the idea of using a strong magnet to hold my phone in place. magnet. electronic circuitry. not sure about that.

you know those people who announce what programme is about to start on the telly, e.g. ‘coming up now we have another visit to the office’? is that their whole job? i mean, do they do anything else, or is that it? it always seems to be the same few voices, so it must be a part of what they do, but is that their entire profession? and do they have a script [which may need approval] or do they just ad-lib everything?

so it turns out i was getting slightly ill after all: bit of a sore throat making it hard* to swallow**. still, i had a most excellent weekend, watching ttt [and agreeing with the universal opinion: it rocks] and drinking plenty of wine, bailey’s and sambuca at jo’s housewarming. i really should take a couple of days off from the drinkage, but i’m meeting up with these two excellent chaps this evening.
