Fuddland
I made a few videos at the Panda Breeding Research Centre in Chengdu, the first of which shows two three-year-old giant pandas play-fighting in the cold morning air.
Whilst the youngsters mucked about, the adults got on with the important business of noisily enjoying their bamboo breakfast.
The Chinese for panda translates literally as “bear cat”, and for decades the scientific classification of them was much debated, but genetic testing has officially placed them in the bear family. Red pandas are much smaller and their classification is still being discussed, although for now they are considered members of the raccoon family, but nonetheless, they also enjoy a bite of bamboo.
