Fuddland
As part of my pre-China aclimatisation training, I’m spending a couple of days in the west of Ireland, where it’s hovering somewhere around the zero degrees centigrade mark.
Plenty of activities to keep me warm though: sitting by the fire; reading [sitting by the fire]; doing crossword puzzles [in close proximity to the fire]; and bird-watching [rather conveniently, the bird-tables are situated outside a window not too far from the fire].
Update: Okay, the cold obviously froze up parts of my general knowledge and made me think Caledonia was the Roman name for Ireland, whereas, as you all were no doubt about to tell me, that was actually the name for what we generally now call Scotland. The Roman name for Ireland was Hibernia.

So instead you’re hibernating in Hibernia :-)

Re #1: Indeed I am [the non-sleeping kind of hibernating, obviously]. Only the fear of feeling the wrath of the blogging community for changing a permalink has stopped me from altering the title of this post. ;)

I stayed over in the west of Ireland a few years back. If memory serves, it was a nice little bungalow on the edge of the Clew Bay golf course in Kilmeena. I don’t think the owners rent it out anymore. Think they swapped it for the house they were living in at the time.
