“Never wash a teapot,” my grandmother probably used to say; it’s the kind of wisdom grandmothers are prone to spouting. But she never saw just how shiny a dishwasher can make things.

Dear God!
Is that truly your teapot? I thought that faint-brown-patina was the ground state!

I’m glad to see you didn’t make the old ebay mistake of taking a photo of something reflective whilst naked…

Re #1: Turns out granny was right — I’m sure tea tasted better before I dishwashered it!
Re #2: Oh sorry, I’ve posted the wrong photo… ;)

Re #4: Heh, glad at least one person got the reference, albeit having to slightly cheat to fill in all the blanks. ;)

Er…What happened to the post that came after this one? I know it was there, I commented on it. I feel used.
Used and ashamed.
And my line-breaks keep disappearing…

Re #6: Good question. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on!
Update: Okay, issue one was me messing around with testing a problem with posting from Flickr-to-MT, which resulted in me accidentally deleting the wrong post. Conclusion: human error.
The line-break thing was due to an MT plugin gone awry, stripping all the HTML from comments. Conclusion: coder error.
All has been restored. Sorry for the confusion and general feelings of inadequacy.
