'Sold' sign outside the front of my house

[With apologies to Lennon & McCartney.]

So it’s official: the house I live in has been sold, and I’m decamping down to London before the end of the month. This has been, without a doubt, the nicest of the seven different places in which I’ve lived during my years at university, having spent the last two years here, and I will miss it a great deal. I was hoping to see off the end of my PhD whilst still resident, but I’m still just that little bit too far off from finishing for that to be possible, and it’s not worth stressing myself out with trying to get that done in a rush on top of packing and relocating.

I suppose the reason why I’ll miss this place more than the other houses and flats that I’ve lived in is, I’ve put much more effort into the upkeep of this place, having done some decorating and much gardening, so I feel much more like this has been my home, rather than somewhere I happen to be renting for a while. [I never did round to getting my lilac-coloured bedroom redecorated though…]

Re #1: Did it work? Is the sale off? I can stay? Hurrah!
