Glad you’re back. Who did you go with in the end for hosting?

Re #5: I went with Servage* as I quite fancied their claims about stability and, after having to carefully monitor my disk space usage with my previous hosts, the freedom of over 2Gb of space is pretty nice. I’m using half of it already to back up almost two year’s worth of digital photos.

Customer service has been pretty good so far, usually responding to my questions within a couple of hours. It’s too early to say how things are in terms of stability and speed, but with no minimum contract, if things don’t work out I can move elsewhere at any time. Seems to be okay so far though.

They’re based in Denmark and Germany, and I’m quite tickled by the occasional spelling mistakes on the control panel — e.g. “Bellow a list of mySQL databases associated with your account”. I find it rather charming. :)

* Note that this link includes my referral code — if someone signs up with them after following the link, we’d both get an extra 200Mb of space, and I’d get two months free hosting. Just wanted to declare my interests. :)
