Fuddland
- Good idea
- Coming home, changing into a pair of shorts and sitting out in the garden for a few minutes of evening sun.
- Bad idea
- Deciding to tackle the increasing problem of dandelion infestation of said garden by pulling out each plant and stuffing them into a plastic bag. In a brilliant evolutionary move, the traditional method the plant uses to propagate itself [that is, waiting for the wind to pick up the lightweight seeds and carry them off to other fertile land] is facilitated by the act of pulling the plant out of the ground, no matter how gently one tries to do this. One might have thought of this sooner had one not been so thoroughly sick of the sight of dandelions all over the place. One might also have stopped what one was doing once one had realised one was making things worse but one also doesn’t like to leave a job half done [but has no problem with leaving the job approximately 68% done].
- Good idea
- Being a cute baby froggie and distracting me for a while with your hoppity-hopping around the long grass, in particular the comedy manner in which you leap from my hand back into the grass with your legs flailing madly and spinning through 360°.
- Bad idea
- Being a cute baby froggie in a few days’ time when I get around to cutting the grass; I’m betting my blades move faster than your legs. Please vacate the premises for your own safety.
- Good idea
- Setting all of these activities to the sound of The Beta Band’s excellent new album Heroes to Zeros.
So that’s Good Ideas 3–2 Bad Ideas — not a bad score so far.

Beta band sound good, esp. the track “Easy” (bit Simon and Garfunkely no?). But why is that twerp wearing a balaclava?

Re #1: Not exactly Simon & Garfunkley, no. Bit more alternative than that [oooh I hate classifying music!]. From one of the Amazon reviewers:
The Beta Band somehow always manage to offer up an infectious fresh melodic sound with all the musical elements of dub, rock, folk and hip hop mixed in to create something that bit different.
And he’s probably wearing a balaclava to prevent certain people from recognising him and shouting “Twerp!” when they see him in the street!
Re #2: I’ve already posted one over on the Moblog! Would it help if I linked to it a few more times?
And, in my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with a photo of me in shorts [far left]. :P
