Fuddland
Floated around today doing some things I hardly ever do: had a Burger King Whopper Meal for breakfast; started a book I got for Christmas for which I can’t even remember the reason for wanting; met a friend for drinks in the pub; stayed in the pub after the friend left to play his weekly five-a-side match, reading my book and trying to get drunk; didn’t manage to get drunk; had a Burger King Chicken Royale Meal for dinner; finally decided to head home; finished the book as the tube pulled into my station.
More travel tomorrow, but with definite direction: to Ireland for a week with my Dad. Fixing the turf shed roof is on the agenda apparently, thanks to the recent strong winds. A welcome distraction.

Re the book, I imagine that the reviewer summary “A wierdly wonderful novel of love and particle physics” would have sold it to you, no?
Re Ireland - I am positively green with envy. Please take lots of pictures of the house, inside and out so that I can ooh and aaah over them.

re #1: alas, the book’s not as good as it sounds…

Re #2: I second that—a pretty disappointing read, in terms of both the writing and the fairly predictable plot. I would do a lengthier review but I’ve left the book back in England and would want to quote some passages I found particularly lame.
From that last sentence you may gather I’m now at my Dad’s place—gah, dial up!

re #3: and what _exactly_ is wrong with dial-up? ;)

Re #4: Nothing whatsoever. [Sorry for not responding until now—I’ve only just managed to reload the page. :P]
