Look at me, I’m posting from home!
I’m sure it will surprise none of you to learn that after convincing Freeserve that it’s not my fault, and thumb-twiddling whilst BT’s weekday-only staff enjoy their weekend off, my connection is back up and running through no further action on my part. I rang technical support to let them know — obviously they wouldn’t be monitoring this sort of thing — and the lady muttered some kind of explanation which I didn’t catch even when she repeated it [clearly being read off her display as none of the muffled words appeared to change the second time round].
Surprisingly, the refund was automatic [the confirmation email arrived as I was typing this] — the two other times I’ve lost my connection for a few days, I’ve had to write a letter to their head office requesting reimbursement.
Well, whatever the reasons: I’m back. Just got to think of something to say now…
