I guess all those references to Firebird in the previous entry should be changed to its new name: Firefox. For the reasons behind the name-change, see the FAQs.
I haven’t installed it yet but I’m not expecting vast differences from the previous versions, so I don’t think it will usurp Opera’s position as my favourite browser, but I must admit Firefox wins hands down in the coolest logo competition. Foxy!
Update: Jon Hicks, the man who rendered this fine logo from a preliminary sketch, has written up the process. [via paranoidfish]

Downloaded it, using it, but still going back to Opera soon :o)

Downloaded it, tried using it, but got this error message:
Error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser
The browser refused to do anything after displaying that.
After some head-scratching, I realised it was because I had deleted Firebird a few days ago but not removed the extensions from my profiles directory [found, in Win XP, in
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Phoenix\].The Mozilla site does say to disable extensions before installing Firefox but firstly this page isn’t displayed en route to downloading the product [and am I the only person who doesn’t think “release notes” when looking for installations instructions?], and secondly I couldn’t re-install Firebird 0.7 to disable the extensions [the same error message was displayed]. I had to delete the extension directories in my profile, install Firefox then re-install the extensions.
And I’m still annoyed that the transparency levels are different from previous releases. :P
